WSOS Alert Systems

The change of state callout feature in WSOS uses pre-recorded voice and text messages to alert maintenance personnel of network abnormality and to report the fault to protection engineers. Different switchgear status conditions are used to trigger the alert system. The reclosers and sectionalisers instigate communications to a WSOS computer and the computer sends out alert messages to on-call operators via:

SMS message;

Voice mail; and

E-mail.

This feature notifies repair crews of permanent line faults, ensures quick response times and can be configured to allow open or close commands via GSM or tone phone.
